To all those who love the Persian Language and the Iranian culture and civilization

Recently, the University of Tehran as the major institution for the study and promotion of the Persian language, has established a Center for the Instruction of the Persian Language and Iranian Studies, together with the institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian-Armenian University, in the beautiful city of Yerevan, the capital of our northern neighbour, Armenia.

To all those who love the Persian Language
 and the Iranian culture and civilization

Persian is the national language of Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, with over 120 million speakers in the world. This language is also spoken in several countries of Central Asia, in the Persian Gulf region, and in the Indian Subcontinent. Furthermore, it is a great asset in terms of being the second language of Islam, and one of the major languages in the field of Oriental Studies, as well as an important representative of the Indo-European Language family. 

Persian has a long history, going back to the end of the second millennium B.C., with a very rich and splendid literature.
 
Each year, a large number of students apply to learn Persian, because Persian is the key to the understanding of many problems about the history and culture of the peoples inhabiting a vast area stretched from Asia Minor to the Indian Subcontinent.
 
The knowledge of Persian is crucial also for the areal and cultural studies, international relations, political science, and the history of the Near and Middle East, Central Asia and beyond. So, it is not surprising that this language has been, and is, in the focus of attention of many scholarly communities worldwide.

 

Recently, the University of Tehran as the major institution for the study and promotion of the Persian language, has established a Center for the Instruction of the Persian Language and Iranian Studies, together with the institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian-Armenian University, in the beautiful city of Yerevan, the capital of our northern neighbour, Armenia. This Institute enjoys a long-standing reputation, which, together with the experienced, native instructors of Persian and other Iranian languages creates a real academic atmosphere for the study of relevant disciplines. This pleasant and equipped Institute, which provides high quality education with reasonable tuition fees, is an ideal place to learn Persian in Eurasia, in a country immediately bordering Iran, which historically constituted an important part of the Iranian Ecumene.

The feasibility of traveling to Armenia from most of the countries in the world with the least visa problems, enables the students of the Persian language and Iranian Studies to attend the courses easily, and receive valid certificates issued jointly by the University of Tehran and the Russian Armenian University in Yerevan.

Remember that enjoying the fantastic Iranian (and even the Indo-Iranian) culture and civilization, and understanding the poetry of Ferdowsi, Sa'di, Rumi and Hafez is not possible without knowing Persian. As was noted congenially by Hafiz:

That one would be aware of Hafiz’s heart-alluring verse,
Who enjoys the grace of disposition, and speaks the Persian language.

درود بر شما دوستداران زبان فارسی و فرهنگ ایران!

زبان فارسی، زبان ملی کشورهای ایران، افغانستان و تاجیکستان است و بیش از 120 میلیون گوینده در جهان دارد. این زبان علاوه بر این، در کشورهای آسیای مرکزی، کشورهای حوزۀ خلیج فارس و کشورهای شبه قارۀ هند هم گویندگان بسیار دارد و به عنوان زبان دوم جهان اسلام، یکی از زبان­های مهم حوزه مطالعات شرق­شناسی و یکی ، از اهمیت ویژه­ای برخوردار است.

فارسی زبانی است کهن، با ادبیاتی وسیع و درخشان. هر سال تعداد دانشجویان مشتاق تحصیل در رشتۀ زبان و ادبیات فارسی افزایش می­یابد، زیرا زبان فارسی کلیدی است برای گشودن بسیاری از معماهای تاریخی و فرهنگی مردمی که امروز به زبان­های هند و اروپایی تکلّم می­کنند. علاوه بر این، زبان فارسی یکی از شروط مهم برای دستیابی به اطلاعات وسیع در زمینۀ مطالعات منطقه­ای، روابط بین­الملل، سیاست شناسی، تاریخ و فرهنگ و تمدّن در خاور میانه و فراتر از آن است. بنابراین هیچ جای تعجب نیست که اکنون نسبت به این زبان در جهان از طرف دانشجویان و دانش­پژوهان در بسیاری از رشته­های علمی توجه بسیاری اعمال می­شود.
اخیراً دانشگاه تهران به عنوان نخستین دانشگاه ایران و یکی از اصلی­ترین متولیان آموزش زبان فارسی در جهان، با همکاری دانشکدۀ شرق­شناسی دانشگاه روسی ارمنی ایروان اقدام به تاسیس «مرکز آموزش زبان فارسی و مطالعات ایران­شناسی»  در شهر زیبای ایروان کرده است. دانشکدۀ شرق­شناسی دانشگاه روسی ارمنی ایروان

فراموش نکنیم که بهره­مندی از چشمۀ زلال و جوشان فرهنگ و تمدن ایرانی و (حتی هند و ایرانی)، و لذّت از شعر بزرگانی چون فردوسی، سعدی و مولانا و حافظ، بدون دانستن زبان فارسی امکان پذیر نیست. چنانکه حافظ شیرین­سخن فرموده است:
                           ز شعر دلکش حافظ کسی بود آگاه        که لطف طبع و سخن­گفتن دری داند
